Skippers Welcome

Welcome Aboard fellow Alumni. This is the official Web Site of the United States Naval Academy Alumni Recreation Vehicle Chapter, the only Alumni chapter without a geographic origin. We proudly represent Alumni (about 90 members) from throughout the continental United States and Hawaii who either own an RV ( pop-up trailer, motor home, travel trailer, 5 th wheel, camper conversion van) or are just interested in RVs. Our Chapter was founded by our President emeritus Mike Stoop 54 in 1999.

Our membership is located throughout the United States and we hold periodic Come Arounds in various locations where members gather in their RVs to enjoy fellowship with fellow Alumni. These Come Arounds are organized and led by volunteer Firsties and consist of 3 to5 days of camping together. During these Come Arounds our first priority is to have fun. We also have Happy Hours, dinners, tours, campfires, sing along, and lots of old fashioned fellowship where war stories are told and Academy experiences are relived with an appreciative and knowledgeable audience.

To date we have held Come Arounds in the following locations: Huntsville, Alabama (2 times); Pensacola, Florida; Eufaula, Alabama; Orlando, Florida; Hiawassee, Georgia; Annapolis, Maryland; Letterkenny Army Depot, Pennsylvania: Cottage Grove, Oregon; Seattle, Washington; Plains, Georgia; Watts Bar, Tennessee (2 times); Bardstown, Kentucky; Dillard, Georgia; Key West, Florida (2 times); Kings Bay, Georgia; Rayston Lake, Pennsylvania; Titusville, Florida; and Boothbay, Maine. Attendance has varied from as few as 5 rigs to as many as 30 units at the National Come Around in Bardstown, Kentucky. We have had only 4 repeat Firsties, so almost everyone gets involved.

In the year 2003 we look forward to some really great Come Arounds, which are listed on this Web Site. You are invited to attend a planned Come Around or organize a Come Around and be the Firsty. If you have time for only one Come Around, dont miss the National Come Around in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, it is shaping up to be a really Great One.

To join our Chapter simply send annual dues of $5 to Jack (Boomer) Glaeser 59. Hope to see you at a Come Around soon.
